McConnell Scholars
McConnell
This scholarship is for Kentucky residents who plan to major or minor in political science. Recipients participate in programming designed to develop leaders. Amount of award determined by committee, and may include tuition and books. Ten scholars are selected each year. Interviews are usually scheduled the first weekend in March.
- Minimum high school GPA of 3.35 on a 4.0 scale
- Minimum 24 ACT or 1090 SAT(CR + M)
- 2010 high school graduate
- Kentucky resident
If you meet the above requirements, please submit the following information for consideration:
- Essay about career interests and leadership
- A letter of recommendation from a principal or counselor
- A letter of recommendation from a high school teacher
- A letter of recommendation from an adult non-family member
- Demonstrated leadership potential
Please note: If GPA and/or test score is lower than minimum requirements, student must submit in writing, along with scholarship application, why he or she should be considered; demonstrated leadership potential; major or minor in political science
