UofL Competitive Scholarships

Students must have all admissions documents and scholarship credentials on file by the January 15 deadline. Students may earn only one competitive scholarship, and only one scholarship application is necessary to apply for all awards.

Brown Fellows: full in-state tuition, room and board, as well as participate in an summer program featuring international travel before freshman year - 31 ACT or 1360 SAT (CR + M) and 3.35 GPA

One essay - Imagine a leadership project you might propose to undertake if chosen for the Brown Fellow program, in 500 words or less.

Grawemeyer Scholarship: full in-state tuition, plus a stipend for room, board, and books ($6,500 in 2010). Recipients will also receive an opportunity for undergraduate research. - 31 ACT or 1360 SAT (CR + M) and 3.75 GPA

- Hallmark Scholarship: full in-state tuition, plus a partial stipend for room and board ($3,200 in 2010) - 30 ACT or 1330 SAT (CR + M) and 3.75 GPA
- Trustee's Scholarship: $2,500 - full in-state tuition - 25 ACT or 1130 SAT (CR + M) and 3.35 GPA
- Eagle/Gold Scout Scholarship: $2,500 - full in-state tuition - 25 ACT or 1130 SAT (CR + M) and 3.35 GPA
- Woodford R. Porter Scholarship: this scholarship is awarded to African-American students who are residents of Kentucky. It is based on academic merit, leadership and service.
- McConnell Scholars: for students who plan to major or minor in political science. Recipients participate in programming designed to develop leaders. Amount of award determined by committee, and may include tuition and books.- 3.35 GPA

Students must have all admissions documents on file by January 15. No scholarship application is required.
- Governor's Scholar Award - Full in-state tuition. 2010 Governor’s Scholars Program or Governor’s School for the Arts. 28 ACT or 1250 (CR + M) SAT and 3.35 GPA
- Governor's Scholar Award - $3,500. 2010 Governor's Scholars Program or Governor's School for the Arts. 25 ACT or 1130 (CR + M) SAT and 3.35 GPA
- Gatton Academy - Full in-state tuition. 2010 Gatton Academy of Mathematics and Science. 28 ACT or 1250 (CR + M) SAT and 3.35 GPA
- Gatton Academy - $3,500. 2010 Gatton Academy of Mathematics and Science. 25 ACT or 1130 (CR + M) SAT and 3.35 GPA
- Roger Scholars - $2,500. 2010 Roger Scholar. 25 ACT or 1130 (CR + M) and 3.35 GPA.
- National Merit Finalist - Full in-state tuition, plus a stipend for room, board and books ($6,500 in 2010). Qualification as National Merit Finalist - Must list UofL as first choice with National Merit Corporation.
- National Merit Semifinalist - Full in-state tuition. Qualification as National Merit Semifinalist - Must graduate from Kentucky high school with 3.35 GPA on 4.0 scale
(Please note: students eligible for guaranteed scholarships must submit a separate application if they wish to apply for the Brown Fellows, Hallmark, Grawemeyer or McConnell scholarships).
