Zhanna Goldentul (Costume Designer)
The resident Costume Designer for the Theatre Arts Department at UofL. Her recent designs for the department include: All in the Timing, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Steal Away, The Seagull, Musical Comedy Murders of 1940, The Illusion, Pippin, The ThreePenny Opera, The Importance of Being Ernest, Vinegar Tom, Troilus and Cressida, Woman in Mind, and The Trojan Women. She teaches Costume History, Costume Design and Construction, and Stage Makeup. She graduated from the Theatrical Art College in Moscow. Before coming to the U.S. in 1992, she worked in Russia at the Old Drama Theatre, the Moscow Contemporary Theatre, the New Moscow Musical Art School, Avant Garde Ballet Company (for TV), and designed book covers for Printinghouse Illustrating Materials. She is also the staff Costume Designer for Argosy Entertainment Company in Tampa, Florida. Recent designs for the company include Secrets Every Smart Traveler Should Know and Patsy Cline: A Life in Concert. She has been a member of the United Scenic Artists' Union since 1993. She has designed costumes at Stage One for Sleeping Beauty and Hanzel and Gretel, co-designed at The Center Stage Theatre for Into the Woods. She also consults for the Kentucky Opera's "Music, Words, Opera" Children's Showcase.
