Department of Psychological and Brain Sciences
The Department of Psychological and Brain Sciences, part of the College of Arts and Sciences, consists of 26 faculty members whose research spans several areas of Psychology including: clinical, cognitive, developmental, neuroscience and perception. Undergraduate and graduate students have the opportunity to work with faculty in state of the art research facilities, many of which are funded by Federal, State and private research grant funds.
The Department supports one of the largest undergraduate programs at the University of Louisville. The Department offers three undergraduate degrees: The Bachelor of Arts in Psychology - Concentration in Social Sciences, The Bachelor of Arts in Psychology - Concentration in Natural Sciences, and The Bachelor of Science in Psychology. In addition, the Department offers a Minor in Psychology.
Our department offers graduate training in a number of research areas including: Aging, Child, Maternal & Family Health, Cognitive Science, Developmental Science, Health Psychology, Neuroscience & Neuropsychology, Psychopathology, and Vision & Hearing Sciences. A Ph.D. is available in two areas: Clinical Psychology and Experimental Psychology. Over 90 graduate students are currently enrolled in the Department's two graduate programs

Congratulations to Maria Barnes (Ph.D. student, Experimental Program) for being selected as a recipient of a 2007 American Psychological Association Dissertation Research Award for her work entitled "Obstructive Sleep Apnea and Cognition in Children"!
