Etscorn Scholarship Applications Available

Applications for several academic scholarships from Honors in the value of $5000 for the 2009-2010 academic year are now available. Out-of-state students are encouraged to apply. Online applications may be found on the Local Scholarships page under Honors Program Academic Scholarships, with paper applications located in the information rack in the reception area of the Etscorn Honors Center. The Etscorn family supports these scholarships through a generous donation. Applications are due in the Etscorn Honors Center Monday, April 20 and should be returned to the attention of Dr. John Richardson.

Undergraduate Research Symposium

The Undergraduate Research Symposium is April 14 from 12:30 p.m. through 4 p.m. in the Belknap research building first floor seminar room. The Undergraduate Research Symposium is a chance for undergraduates to share what they have learned through their research experiences with a larger audience. It provides a forum where students can showcase research projects that build on and enrich faculty work across the disciplines. Symposium participants gain valuable experience in oral and graphic presentation, and can include their presentations on résumés and graduate school applications. The symposium includes projects from all disciplines, allowing students to learn from each other about a broad range of exciting research topics.

Priority Registration Begins April 6

Honors students in good standing can begin registering for their summer and fall courses on April 6, 2009. To add Honors courses, students need to have seen an Honors academic counselor before April 6 in order to have his or her name cleared to add these restricted courses.

[Special Notice]
Due to the problems with the registration system, the first day for seniors to register will be delayed until April 8. If, as a priority or graduate student, you are still experiencing problems on Tuesday, please send an email to regoff@louisville.edu with your ID number, semester and class numbers.

Students experiencing problems with registration functions should be sure they have determined that there are no negative service indicators, or holds, on their accounts before contacting us. Reasons for not being able to add courses may include: not being cleared for the course; not being an Honors student in good standing; having unpaid parking tickets; or having an unpaid account in the Bursar's Office. If you click on the 'hold' you should be able to see which department or office placed the hold--contact them for assistance in removing it.

Students who missed an opportunity to meet with Dr. Richardson, Melissa, Luke or Tony, can do so now thru April 10.
