Winning photos announced in the A&S Study Abroad Photo Contest

The Arts & Sciences Office of Advising and Student Services sponsored the Study Abroad Photo contest in March 2008. A&S study abroad participants from 2007 shared their experiences and memories of traveling and studying abroad via photographs. Winning photos were selected by University of Louisville students who voted via ULink ballot in March. A&S receives first President’s Diversity Vision Award

The University of Louisville College of Arts and Sciences received the first President’s Diversity Vision Award at a ceremony March 17. The award is intended to recognize cumulative efforts to advance diversity and inclusion at UofL since the 2003 inception of the university-wide diversity plan “Achieving Our Highest Potential.” More: A&S receives first President’s Diversity Vision Award

Ann Elizabeth Willey wins National Faculty Advising Award

Ann Elizabeth Willey has been selected to receive a national advising award from the National Academic Advising Association (NACADA). Ann Elizabeth Willey is an associate professor and the director of undergraduate studies in the department of English in the College of Arts and Sciences, and she has been selected to receive NACADA's 2008 Outstanding Advisor award in the Faculty Advisor category.

History, Political Science Professors Named U.S. Fulbright Scholars

History professor John Cumbler and political science professor Ronald Vogel have been awarded 2007-08 U.S. Fulbright Scholar grants to lecture and research at foreign universities. Full story: A&S Fulbright Scholars

"Revolutionary Voices: Cultural Revolution Posters from Crane House," at Cressman Center Through June 28

A new exhibition titled, "Revolutionary Voices: Cultural Revolution Posters from Crane House," opens Friday, May 16, 6-8 p.m. at the Cressman Center for Visual Arts, the Hite Art Institute's downtown gallery. Curated by master's candidate Youn Ju Yu, the show examines this mass art medium and its influence on more recent Chinese art. Professor Yuxin Ma talk about the images and the Cultural Revolution at 6:30 p.m. The exhibition continues at the Cressman, 100 E Main St. through June 28.
